OpenObserve is an open-source observability platform aimed at teams looking for an alternative to legacy stacks like the Elastic Stack. It stores telemetry in columnar format on low-cost object storage, claims up to 140x lower storage costs than Elasticsearch, and deploys as a single binary or Helm chart with a stateless, horizontally-scalable architecture. It’s OpenTelemetry-native and queryable with both SQL and PromQL.
The company is based in Menlo Park, California, founded and led by CEO Prabhat Sharma, and backed by Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital.
